Technician Guide

How a technician uses PestLynx on the phone, from clocking in to the last stop of the day.

1. Sign in and clock in

Your office creates your login and gives you your email and password.

  1. Open pestlynx.com on your phone, type your Email and Password and tap Sign in. Forgot it? Tap "Forgot password?" for a reset link by email.
  2. Five wrong passwords in 15 minutes lock the login for 15 minutes. A password reset unlocks it right away.
  3. My Visits opens. The clock card is at the top: tap "Tap to clock in". If the phone asks to share your location, allow it — clocking in never waits more than a few seconds for it.
  4. While you're clocked in the card shows "Clocked in since …" and your time on this shift.
  5. Tip: add PestLynx to your home screen (My account → Install this app). It opens straight on My Visits, full screen.

2. Visits and starting a service

My Visits shows today's stops in route order, with the Next stop card on top.

  1. The Next stop card has the customer, the address, the gate code, sensitive areas and the amount to collect (only if your office lets you see amounts).
  2. Tap On My Way: it asks first, then texts the customer that you're coming, with an arrival time. It's sent once per visit and needs signal.
  3. Tap Navigate to pick Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze. Tap Call to phone the customer.
  4. At the property, open the visit and tap Start Service, then confirm. The phone records the time and your location, and the "On job" timer starts.
  5. Started the wrong visit? "Undo start" is there until you enter something.
  6. Below today: Done, Past due, and the next days. Some offices show one stop at a time; the next one appears when this one is done.

3. During the visit and Stop Service

Everything you record goes on the visit's record and the customer's service report.

  1. Products used: tap "+ Add product" for each product — product, EPA #, amount and unit, area treated, method and target pests. If the service has usual products, "Use these products" fills them in.
  2. If a product's label warning matches the property (bees, a pond, a well, "Do not spray"), read it and tick "Followed label precautions" to save.
  3. Take Photo adds photos. Summary of work is what the customer reads on the report. Private notes stay with your office.
  4. Did more than planned? "Add extra service" puts it on the invoice.
  5. Need a break mid-visit? Tap Pause and pick why; Resume when you're back. Paused time isn't counted.
  6. Done? Tap Stop Service. Check the review (time on site, amount to collect, photos, products, summary). No products used? Say why. Then "Yes, complete and lock".
  7. The visit is locked and the customer gets the service report. The office handles the invoice.

Florida WDO inspection? Open the WDO report card on the visit and follow the steps.

4. Lunch, clock out and when something looks wrong

Lunch is a clock-out and a clock-in. Nothing is ever taken off your hours automatically.

  1. Going to lunch: tap "Tap to clock out" (after 5 hours a reminder offers "Start lunch"). Coming back: "Tap to clock in".
  2. End of the day: tap "Tap to clock out" and confirm. After a long day with no break it asks "Did you take a lunch break?" — answer honestly.
  3. See your hours any time in the user menu → My time card.
  4. Wrong time on your card, or forgot to clock out? Tell your office: the Owner fixes it with a reason, and the change is kept in the history.
  5. Wrong visit, address or customer details? Call your office. Completed visits are locked and can't be changed from the phone.

5. Weak signal, My Visits and getting around

PestLynx keeps today's and the next 2 days' visits on your phone, so you can keep working with no signal.

  1. No signal: a red bar says "You're offline - showing what was saved at …". A weak signal shows an amber bar with "Try again".
  2. Works with no signal: Start Service, Pause and Resume, products used, summary, notes, extra services, Stop Service, and clock in, clock out and lunch. They're saved on the phone and sent when the signal comes back.
  3. Needs signal: On My Way texts, photos and payments.
  4. The line at the top of My Visits says "All saved" once everything reached the office. If something needs your attention, open it and choose what to do — nothing is lost.
  5. Wait for "All saved" before you log out: changes not sent yet would be lost.
  6. Getting around: the tabs along the bottom (My Visits, and Customers or Schedule if your office allows). Your initials at the top open My account, My time card, Resources, the Technician Guide, Appearance (Light / Dark) and Log out. EN | ES switches the language.

Opened once, this page can be read again on this device with no signal.
